By the river.

There are days when I question everything. My past, present and what lies before me. I miss my hometown, my family and my friends at home. I sink into melancholy and at the same time feel restless. The thing is, I'm definitely not one of these people who automatically enjoy the moment. I'm usually always one step ahead and think of the future, wrought plans and overthinking everything. This is often really annoying and unsatisfaying but the good news is that I'm about absolutely clear about it and I'm getting better! Strategy # 1 in these moments: Heading to the riverside! This place has become incredibly important to me here in Hamburg. Linchpin, beautiful looking downer and guarantor for immediate relaxation. I do not know exactly why, but here I feel totally safe. The oncoming and departing ships, low-flying seagulls and this gorgeous 'industrial romantic' has become a symbol of Hamburg. Nothing seems to stand still, everything goes its course and yet is perfectly peaceful. There are certainly places, where everything is cleaner and somehow prettier. Places where the wind will not ruin you hair style and where it doesn't smells like fish. Where you're not constantly freezing and people don't curse that much. But it's here, where I have a feeling of security. It's all great as it is - imperfect and a bit raw. I just love that. And I think this might be a love for eternity.

  18. Over thinking is my worst enemy! I hate it and I try my best to ignore the urge to over think. I think it's a brain defect, the brain needs problem solving and we give it to him and it needs more and more until you go all crazy and over think the stupidest bullshit. To not over think, to say "fuck it I don't give a crap" is counter intuitive and it's hard to do, but with practice it's possible. :D I almost felt your peace when you described this place, it seems so magical. I feel that way near the sea, it makes me happy and content with whatever my life situation might be.
